AGR to Manage Offshore Gippsland Basin CO2 Storage Project
  Austrilia

 March 1, 2018

AGR Australia has a contract from the Victorian government to manage its CarbonNet offshore appraisal well drilling program.

The company will be responsible for all aspects of the program, the first of its kind in Australia, from well engineering and design through supervision and execution. It will also manage the project’s health and safety and regulatory aspects.

CarbonNet is investigating the potential for establishing a large-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) network taking in multiple carbon dioxide (CO2) capture projects in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley, transporting the CO2 via a shared pipeline, and injecting it into deep underground, offshore storage sites in the Gippsland basin.

CCS involves capturing CO2 released by industrial processes, compressing it and storing it deep underground. (Offshore)
