Basin Electric Looks for Carbon Capture Partners
Dakota   US

Friday, July 20, 2007

Article Type: Reprinted

Basin Electric Power Co-operative of North Dakota is looking for carbon capture technology providers, who are interested in partnering with it in a carbon capture demonstration project. The project is for its power station in Antelope Valley, Beulah, North Dakota.

Basin Electric hopes it will be able to evaluate "various types of carbon dioxide removal technologies" in the project.

The infrastructure to take the carbon dioxide away already exists; the station is adjacent to a carbon dioxide compression and pipeline system owned by its subsidiary Dakota Gasification Company.

Submittals must be made by Sept 1 2007, with a decision to be made by Dec 1 2007.
